SORSOGON CITY, June 24 –
Personnel of Sorsogon Police Provincial Office (SPPO) together with personnel
of Sorsogon Provincial Public Safety Company (SPPSC) and Sorsogon City Police
Station (CPS) planted more or less 500 saplings of mahogany tree in Barangay
Buhatan, Sorsogon City on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
Said activity is in line with
the Philippine National Police (PNP) tree planting program dubbed as “Pulis Makakalikasan: 10 Milyong
Puno, Pamana sa Kinabukasan”. It is regularly done as a contribution to the
National Greening Program (NGP) implemented by the national government, spearheaded
by PNP Chief, Police Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome, targeting 10
million trees to be planted by PNP personnel nationwide starting February 2012
to February 2013.
Every member of the PNP is
expected to plant six (6) trees every month until February next year.
In line with the program, the
PNP is likewise encouraging the community to join in the tree planting activity
to save our mother nature and for benefit of the future generation. (EPaje,
