EARTH HOUR 2012 - radio guesting at the Kasanggayahan-FM and DZGN-FM. Mahigpit na seguridad ipinatutupad kaugnay ng obserbasyon ng Semana Santa

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, April 3 (PIA) – Simula pa noong nakaraang linggo ay aktibo nang nakakalat ang mga kapulisan upang tiyakin ang seguridad ng publiko ngayong semana santa kung saan sa lungsod ng Sorsogon ay aabot sa limampung mga pulis mula sa Sorsogon Police Provincial Office ang inilagay bilang augmentation force.

Ipinag-utos naman ni City Police Chief PSupt Edgardo Ardales ang mas mahigpit na police visibility at round-the-clock na pagpapatrol ng mga pulis sa lungsod at nanawagan din ito sa mga opisyal ng barangay na magpatupad ng regular at mas mahigpit na pagroronda sa kani-kanilang mga lugar upang matiyak ang seguridad ng mga mamamayan sa panahong nagsasagawa ng mga aktibidad tulad ng prusisyon, visita iglesia, vigil at iba pa.

Nagbabala din ang Philippine Coast Guard Sorsogon Station sa publiko na mag-ingat sa pagsakay sa mga kolurom na sasakyang pandagat lalo na’t nauuso din sa mga panahong tulad nito ang pag-aarkila ng mga sasakyan o pagkuha ng mga pasahero lalo na sa mga isla dahilan sa kakulangan ng masasakyan kaugnay na rin ng maraming mga pasahero. Sakali umanong magkaroon ng mga sakuna ay walang seguridad na maibibigay ang mga ito sa maaapektuhang pasahero.

Hinigpitan din nila ang pagsubaybay sa pagpapatupad ng mga patakaran sa paglalayag ng mga sasakyang pandagat lalo na sa mga pantalan ng Matnog, Pilar at Bulan.

Sa pagtutulungan ng Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Land Transportation Office at iba pang ahensya ng pamahalaan, may mga check-point at assistance center ding inilagak sa mga istratehikong lugar sa buong lalawigan upang tulungan sa kanilang pangangailangan ang mga motorista at mga bisitang dadagsa mula sa ibang mga lugar lalo pa’t mas mahaba ang bakasyon ngayon.

Maging ang Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) at Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) ay nagpalabas din ng memorandum kaugnay ng kaukulang paghahanda ng bawat lalawigan o ang “Alerto Semana Santa 2012” mula April 2 hanggang April 8.

Ayon kay Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Management Office (SPDRMO) Chief Jose Lopez, alerto din ang bawat kasapi ng Provincial DRRMC sa pagpapatupad ng kani-kanilang mga contingency plan nang hindi na kailangan pang paalalahanan.

Nagsumite din ng Holy Week Contingency Plan ng mga National Government Agencies (NGAs) at Local DRRMC ang Provincial DRRMC bilang tugon na rin sa direktiba ni National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director at OCD Administrator, Undersecretary Benito T. Ramos nang sa gayon ay matiyak ang matagumpay at mapayapang selebrasyon ng Holy Week ngayong taon.

Ayon pa kay Lopez, pinaigting din nila ang koordinasyon sa mga Public Information Officer at media sa lalawigan para sa mas malawakang pagpapakalat ng impormasyon ukol sa mga hakbang pang-seguridad at pangkaligtasan. (BARecebido, PIA Sorsogon)

Pagsusumite ng ITR hanggang sa Abril 16 na lamang ayon sa BIR; target na koleksyon sa buwis para sa 2012 mas tinaasan

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, April 3 (PIA) –Muling pinaalalahanan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue Sorsogon District Office ang publiko na hanggang sa ika-16 ng Abril, 2012 na lamang ang huling araw ng pagsusumite ng indibidwal na Income Tax Returns (ITR).

Ayon kay Asst. Revenue District Officer Eutiquio Grajo, ang pagbabayad ng buwis ay isang responsibilidad ng mga mamamayang Pilipino kung kaya’t hindi ito dapat na ipagsawalang-bahala. Maaari din umanong maharap sa legal na asunto ang sinumang mapapatunayang hindi nagsusumite ng kanyang ITR.

Sinabi din ni Grajo na gagamit ngayon ng bagong porma ng Income Tax Return ang BIR kung kaya’t patuloy ang panawagan nito sa mga taxpayer na magbayad ng kanilang buwis ng mas maaga kaysa sa itinakdang deadline upang maging pamilyar ito sa bagong porma at hindi na magbuhos pa ng mas mahabang panahon dahilan sa mga pagkakamali sa pagfill-up ng bagong porma.

Hindi rin umano sila magbibigay ng palugit para sa pagsusumite ng individual ITR, maliban na lamang umano kung magbaba ng memorandum ang BIR central office ukol sa pagpaliban nito sa itinakdang deadline.

Samantala, sinabi ni Grajo na hindi nila naabot ang itinakdang P423,444,000 na target na koleksyon noong nakaraang taon. Umabot lamang umano sa P408,075,648.42, kulang ng P15,368,361.56 o 3.6 porsyento ng aktwal na target.

Ayon pa kay Grajo, itinakda ng BIR Central Office ang Php460,360,000 na target collection ngayong taon para sa Sorsogon Revenue District Office, mas mataas umano ito ng 13 porsyento kumpara sa target collection noong nakaraang taon.

Subalit, tumaas man ito ay naghayag pa rin ng positibong reaksyon si Grajo at sinabing makakaya nilang lampas an ang target collection na ito lalo pa’t nito lamang Enero ay nakakolekta na sila ng P39,015,461.89 laban sa P35,025,000 na actual target collection nila para sa buwan ng Enero 2012. EARTH HOUR ORGANIZER SAYS IT’S MORE IN FUN THE PHILIPPINES (03031012)

SORSOGON CITY, April 3 - Earth Hour founder and executive director Andy Ridley himself affirmed that “it’s more fun in the Philippines.”

It was after he personally feasted his eyes on how the Filipinos brought themselves together to support a significant program similar to turning off for one hour the facilities which ingest electricity.

Ridley himself led the Earth Hour 2012 celebration in Ayala, Makati City as well as the switching off ceremonies which were simultaneously done in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Though the concept was not derived from which is actually being promoted, Ridley said that he was pleased and apparently he saw how the Pinoys showed so much fondness to Earth Hour.

In fact, Ridley said that they recognize the Philippines as a “hero country” for showing this initiative.

 “We can go beyond voice to action, and we can go beyond action to change," Ridley said.

Ridley confirmed that he would divulge his experience to other countries after joining the Pinoy version of Earth Hour this year.

Last 2011, nearly 18 million Filipinos fused for the Earth Hour celebration.

In Sorsogon, national and local, as well as non-government agencies staged a pooled “flashlight parade” together with the media and the private sector around the city’s main access roads after the “30 seconds countdown” at the Capitol park to celebrate Earth Hour 2012.

Prior to the cavalcade, PENRO-LGU Chief Maribeth Fruto topped a covenant signing in which the partners (individuals, group, business, institutions, media and organizations) of the Provincial Government of Sorsogon attached their signatures in establishing a social contract on what each is willing to do to save the planet. The act supports the spread of environmental awareness towards the need to take action on global warming by uniting people to a common goal of saving earth in a positive and interactive way.
