Butanding Festival 2012 opisyal nang sinimulan

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, May 14 (PIA) – Opisyal nang nagbukas ngayong araw ang Butanding Festival sa Donsol, Sorsogon na magtatagal hanggang sa ika-20 ng Mayo, 2012.

Kahapon ay nagkaroon na ng paunang aktibidad kung saan ginanap ang Big Run Cross-Country Half Marathon sa pangunguna ng pamahalaang bayan ng Donsol at ng Mayon Ultra Runners. Alas-singko ng hapon ng ganapin naman ang pambungad na misa.

Kaninang umaga matapos ang Flag Ceremony ay ginanap ang motorcade at opening program mula sa Rizal Park patungo sa Tourism Office Deck sa Dancalan, Donsol.

Opisyal na ring binuksan kaninan ang Agri-Trade Fair na tinagurian nilang “Big Trades, Big Buys” at ang Big Shots Photo Contest na ayon sa mga organizer ay magtutuloy-tuloy ang exhibit at registration hanggang sa huling araw ng festival.

Ilan pa sa mga aabangan ngayong araw ay ang paglulunsad ng Big Bites Culinary Fest at Chefs’ Showdown kung saan itatampok dito ang mga natatanging lutuin at pagkain hindi lamang sa Donsol kundi sa buong lalawigan ng Sorsogon.

Gaganapin din sa hapon ang Mutya ng Donsol Talent Show at Big Bingo Bonanza. Sa gabi ay inaasahang dadagsain ang Pasaling Donsolanon Cultural Show at ang Butanding Bay Fun kung saan tampok ang bandang mula pa sa Metro Manila.

Ilan pa sa aabangan sa mga darating na araw ay ang iba’t-ibang mga patimpalak sa larangan ng paggandahan, pagsagwan, isports, Big Time Videoke Challenge at Butanding watching, pagpapakita ng iba’t-ibang mga fashion styles, environmental activities atpagpapalipad ng mga lantern.

Tampok naman sa bisperas ng kapistahan ng patron ng Donsol, St. Joseph the Worker sa May 18 ang Maritime Parade ng mga replica ng Butanding mula Brgy. Dancalan hanggang sa pantalan ng Donsol; Butanding parade; mini-festival of festivals kung saan makikita ang iba’t-ibang festival ng 51 mga barangay sa Donsol; at ang Gabi ng Barangayan sa Butanding tampok ang mga artista sa telebisyon.

Sa huling araw naman ay magkakaroon ng konsyerto ngpamosong si Joey Ayala at inaabangan na rin ang Malaking fireworks display.

Matatandaang dating ginaganap ang Butanding Festival sa buwan ng Abril subalit, ngayong taon ay napagkasunduan ng mga opisyal sa lugar na isabay na lamang ito sa kapistahan ng kanilang patron na ipinagdiriwang tuwing ika-19 ng Mayo. (BARecebido, PIA Sorsogon)

(update) 3rd Bicol Prosecutors Convention huling araw na ngayon

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, May 11 (PIA) – Naging matagumpay ang unang dalawang araw ng isinasagawang 3^rd Bicol Prosecutors Convention sa Sorsogon na nagsimula noong Miyerkules at magtatapos ngayong araw.

Kabilang sa mga naging tampok na aktibidad ay ang Corporate Planning and Management Conference alinsunod sa ipinadalang Memorandum ni DoJ Secretary Leila De Lima na may petsang Marso 2, 2012.

Kahapon ay nag-ikot ang mga kalahok sa tatlong bayan ng lalawigan upang personal na makita ang mga destinasyong panturismo na ipinagmamalaki ng Sorsogon, kabilang na ang world heritage sa bayan ng Barcelona, Bulusan Lake sa Bulusan at mga beach at resort sa bayan ng Gubat, bilang bahagi na rin ng promosyon ng mga magagandang tanawin, sebisyo, kaugalian at produktong natatangi sa Sorsogon.

Matatandaang naglagay din ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Sorsogon ng mga tindahan sa may lobby ng Bulwagan ng Katarungan upang mabigyan din ng pagkakataon ang mga local traders at business establishments sa Sorsogon upang kumita rin ang mga ito.

Sa panghuling araw ngayon, magkakaroon ng maikling programa sa City Hall ng lungsod ng Sorsogon sa Brgy. Cabid-an sa pangunguna ni City Mayor Leovic Dioneda at mga lokal na opisyal dito. Isusumite din ni Deputy Regional Prosecutor Jose Demosthenes sa mga kasapi ng Bicol Prosecutors League ang Proposed Constitution and By-Laws ng Bicol Prosecutors League at isasagawa na rin ang pagraratipika nito.

Matapos ito ay nakatakdang bumisita ang grupo sa bahay ni Senator Francis Escudero sa Brgy. Buhatan, Sorsogon City, kung saan inaasahan ding magbibigay ng mensahe ang senador.

115 kalahok sa kabuuan ang nagrehistro sa convention na kinabibilangan ng mga opisyal ng National Prosecutors League of the Philippines at mga taga-usig mula sa iba’t-ibang mga lugar sa buong rehiyon ng Bicol. (BArecebido, PIA Sorsogon) 

Pitong bayan sa Sorsogon benepisyaryo ng PAMANA Project

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, May 11 (PIA) – Sa isinagawang pagpupulong ng mga kasapi ng Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) dito kamakailan, sinabi ni Sorsogon Governor Raul R. Lee na pitong mga bayan sa Sorsogon ang napiling maging benepisyaryo ng Proyektong Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) ng pamahalaang nasyunal.

Ang PAMANA ay isang inisyatibang pangkapayapaan at pangkaunlaran na ipinatutupad ng pamahalaan sa mga lugar na apektado ng armadong labanan.

Ang mga ito ay ang bayan ng Casiguran at Magallanes sa unang distrito at sa Barcelona, Irosin, Juban, Pto. Diaz at Gubat sa ikalawang distrito.

Matatandaang tinukoy ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) ang mga lalawigan ng Camarines Norte, Sorsogon at Masbate sa Bicol bilang mga benepisyaryo ng mga inisyatibang pangkaunlaran sa ilalim ng PAMANA.

Ayon pa kay Gov. Lee inihanda na ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Sorsogon sa pamamagitan ng Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) ang listahan ng mga prayoridad na proyekto sa ilalim ng PAMANA at kaukulang badyet nito para sa taong 2012. Ang mga proyektong ito ay ang mga sumusunod:

Barcelona – water system at river control project; Casiguran – pagkokonkreto ng Calayugan-Burgos Farm to Market Road; Gubat – pagkokonkreto ng Union-Sangat Farm to Market Road; Juban – pagkokonkreto ng Caruhayon-Tinago Farm to Market Road at ng Lower-Upper Calmayon; Magallanes – Eco-tourism project (Phase II) na kinabibilangan ng Parola Beach, Bucalbucalan Spring Resort at Sta. Lourdes Grotto, pagtatayo ng evacuation center at ng post-harvest facility na mechanical flat bed dryer, Irosin – pagsasakonkreto ng Liang Farm to Market Road; habang sa Pto. Diaz – pagkokonkreto ng Gogon – San Rafael Farm to Market Road.

Lahat ng nabanggit na proyekto ay pinondohan ng tig-lilimang milyong piso na umaabot sa kabuuang halagang P40 milyon kabilang na ang provincial agricultural facility sa Brgy. Abuyog, Sorsogon City na pagtatayo ng cold storage at cold chain facility.

Naghayag naman ng pasasalamat sa national government si Gov. Lee partikular kay Pangulong Benigno Aquino III dahilan sa mga tulong pangkaunlaran na ibinibigay nito sa lalawigan ng Sorsogon.

Hindi rin kinalimutan ng gobernador ang malaking naiambag ni dating gobernador Sally A. Lee dahilan upang maisama ang Sorsogon sa listahan ng mga benepisyaryong pangkaunlaran ng pamahalaan sa ilalim ng programa ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).

Samantala, nagkaroon naman ng re-organization ng mga kasapi ng PPOC at ng PAMANA-DILG Fund Provincial Technical Working Group (TWG) kung saan muling inilahad ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga papel na ginagampanan at responsibilidad ng mga kasapi nito partikular sa PAMANA-DILG Fund sa ilalim ng Joint Memorandum Circular ng OPAPP at DILG.

Kabilang sa kasapi ng PAMANA-DILG Fund Provincial TWG ay ang DPWH-DEO1, DPWH-DEO2, AFP, PNP, DepEd, DSWD, DENR/PENRO-LGU at ang DILG bilang chair ng TWG habang ang iba pang mga kasapi ay magsisilbing consultant ng TWG. (BARecebido, PIA Sorsogon)

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, May 10 (PIA) – Sinimulan kahapon dito sa Sorsogon ang tatlong araw na 3^rd Bicol Prosecutors Convention na magtatagal hanggang bukas, Mayo 11, kung saan naririto ngayon ang mga opisyal ng National Prosecutors League of the Philippines at mga taga-usig mula sa iba’t-ibang mga lugar sa buong rehiyon ng Bicol.

Tampok sa mga aktibidad kahapon ang Corporate Planning and Management Conference alinsunod sa ipinadalang Memorandum ni DoJ Secretary Leila De Lima na may petsang Marso 2, 2012.

Sa pangalawang araw ngayon ng aktibidad, iniskedyul ng Provincial Prosecutor’s Office sa pangunguna ni na maipakita rin sa mga kalahok ang ipinagmamalaking turismo sa iba’t-ibang mga lugar dito sa Sorsogon.

Ayon kay Provincial Prosecutor Regina Coeli Gabito, ang aktibidad ay ginagawa nila sa rehiyon ng Bikol lalo pa’t mayroon silang organisasyon dito, ang Bicol League of Prosecutors at ngayong ton ay napili ang Sorsogon upang maging punong-abala.

Layunin ng tatlong araw na aktibidad na pag-usapan ang pinakahuling mga issuances na inilabas ng Department of Justice (DoJ), magkaroon ng brainstorming ng kanilang gawain bilang mga prosecutors at mapatatg pa ang samahan ng mga prosecutor sa buong rehiyon ng Bicol.

Naghayag din ng panghinayang si Fiscal Gabito dahilan sa hindi nakarating ang dalawang malalaking personalidad ng pamahalaan kung saan kinansela ni Sec. De Lima ang pagpunta dito dahilan sa nakaiskedyul na pagtestigo nito sa impeachment Trial ni Chief Justice Renato Corona, habang nasa Hongkong naman si Prosecutor General Claro M. Arellano para sa kanyang anti-corruption presentation sa international justice community.

Ayon kay Fiscal Gabito, sinamantala rin niya ang pagkakataon upang ‘maibenta’ sa mga kalahok ang magagandang tanawin, mga sebisyo, kaugalian at produktong natatangi sa Sorsogon. Kabilang na dito ang world heritage sa bayan ng Barcelona, Bulusan Lake sa Bulusan at mga beach at resort sa bayan ng Gubat.

Inimbitahan din niya umano ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Sorsogon na maglagay ng mga tindahan sa may lobby ng Bulwagan ng Katarungan upang mabigyan din ng pagkakataon ang mga local traders at business establishments sa Sorsogon upang kumita rin ang mga ito. (BArecebido, PIA Sorsogon) 

Sorsogon hosts 3rd Bicol Prosecutors Convention

SORSOGON CITY, May 10 (PIA) – Some 115 participants and guests composed of national officers from the National Prosecutors League of the Philippines and prosecutors from across the Bicol region register to the 3^rd Bicol Prosecutors Convention which started yesterday and to last until Friday, May 11.

Provincial Prosecutor Regina Coeli Gabito said participants, visitors and guests were warmly welcomed by Sorsogon Governor Raul R. Lee himself along with other high-ranking officials in the province.

“The convention is actually an annual activity of the prosecutors specifically here in Bicol where we have an active and well-organized group, the Bicol League of Prosecutors, and for this year, our province serves as the host,” said Fiscal Gabito.

She also said that the primary purpose of the convention is to update the prosecutors of the current issuances of the Department of Justice (DoJ), brainstorming on their works as prosecutors, and at the same time socializing and harmonizing with their co-prosecutors in the whole Bicol region.

“DOJ Sec. Leila De Lima and Prosecutor General Claro M. Arellano of the National Prosecution Service of the DoJ are actually part of the convention, but due to their hectic schedules as they are among the very busy officials of the government, they were not able to make it here during this three-day convention,” she said.

“Sec. De Lima is also set to testify in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona and has to be in the Senate from May 9 and 10, while Prosecutor General Arellano left for Hongkong to present a paper regarding anti-corruption in the international justice community, so they both decided to finally cancel their schedule here in Sorsogon,” Fiscal Gabito added.

The first day yesterday was highlighted by the Corporate Planning and Management Conference as per the Memorandum of the DoJ Secretary dated March 2, 2012 and a dinner, fellowship and socials with Gov. Lee and wife former governor Sally A. Lee.

Sorsogon’s chief prosecutor said that she also took the opportunity to introduce the province of Sorsogon to the prosecutors who are also appreciable of the different tourism sites and products which a particular place offers.

“As a Sorsoganon, I am proud of our ‘bests’ here in the province specifically destinations, products, services and values, and I want our visitors to experience the same so we included in our schedule town hopping activities,” she stressed out.

Among the areas to be visited on the second day, May 10, are Barcelona for its ruins and world heritage site, Bulusan for Bulusan Lake and Gubat for its beaches and resorts.

“I also have invited the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Sorsogon to put up a stall at the lobby of the Bulwagan ng Katarungan for the entire duration of the activity displaying our local products to give way for our local traders and business establishments to also gain financially” she said. 

On the third and last day, May 11, a fellowship through a short program with City Mayor Leovic Dioneda and city officials at the Sorsogon City Hall in Brgy. Cabid-an will be held. Also, submission to the members and ratification of the Proposed Constitution and By-Laws of the Bicol Prosecutors League will be made with Deputy Regional Prosecutor Jose Demosthenes at the forefront.

The convention will be culminated with a visit to the residence of Senator Francis Escudero in Brgy. Buhatan, Sorsogon City, wherein the senator is expected to deliver a message to the prosecutors.

Fiscal Gabito also expressed her appreciation and thanks to the local leaders here specifically mentioning Sorsogon Gov. Raul R. Lee, former governor and now Executive Director of Sorsogon Provincial Management Office Sally A. Lee, City Mayor Dioneda, Sen. Escudero, Sorsogon’s 1^st District Congressman Salvador H. Escudero II and 2^nd District Congressman Dogracias Ramos, Jr., Barcelona Mayor and League of Municipalities of the Phils.
