PHIL. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2012. Varied activities highlighted Sorsogon province’s 5-day
celebration of the 114th Philippine Independence Day catering to the
needs of Sorsoganons regardless of age and status in life. A short but
meaningful and well-participated program marked the June 12 celebration with a
doxology, prelude to the singing of the Phil. National Anthem, Flag Raising
Ceremony, Singing of “Lupang Hinirang”, “Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas”, “Pagpupugay
sa Watawat” and the Wreath-laying activity of various government and support agencies
spearheaded by no less than the father of Sorsogon province, Gov. Raul R. Lee. Prior
to the June 12 celebration were the nightly Freedom Concert at the Park,
Exhibit of government agencies programs and services, free viewing of Pacquiao-Bradley
bout, jobs fair, free blood pressure check-up, massage and haircut, assessment
of applicants for scholarships including eligibilities under special laws as
well as career professional and sub-professional applications to name a few.
Thousands of Sorsoganons were benefited and were appreciative of the initiative
looking forward for more in the future activities of the province. (BARecebido,
