Ilang sistema sa operasyon ng Philhealth muling nilinaw; pagbabago sa premium payment inanunsyo

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, January 11 (PIA) – Muling ipinaliwanag ng pamunuan ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) ang ilang mga sistema sa kanilang operasyon upang malinawan ng mga kasapi nito ang kanilang mga obligasyon at benepisyo.

Ayon kay Philhealth Sorsogon Chief Alfredo Jubilo, may tatlong uri ng sponsored membership ang Philhealth, ito ay ang sponsorship na binalikat ng mga lokal na pamahalaan (LGU), ng Department of Health (DOH) at ng national government na may bisang isang taon at pawang natapos noong Disyembre 2011.

Nilinaw niya na sa tatlong uri ng sponsored member ng Philhealth, tanging yaong mga binalikat pa lamang ng national government ang awtomatikong na-renew habang hinihintay pa nila ang abiso mula sa dalawa pang sponsor lalo’t may nakaambang pagtaas sa premium payment at pinag-aaralan pa ng mga LGU kung kakayanin nila ang pagbalikat sa bayaring ito.

Ayon kay Jubilo, mahalagang alam ng bawat kasapi ng Philhealth ang kanilang mga obligasyon at benepisyo bilang miyembro nang sa gayon ay naiiwasan ang anumang mga suliranin at hindi pagkakaintindihan sa pagitan ng mga kasapi, ospital at tauhan ng Philhealth.

Sa iba pang mga kasapi ng Philhealth, ipinaliwanag niyang mas mainam na regular nitong binabayaran ang kanilang premium upang makakuha ng benepisyo sakaling maospital. Aniya, sa mga simpleng kaso ng pagkakaospital, ang bayad sa pinakahuling kwarter bago sila maospital ang hinihingi nila, subalit sa mga kunsideradong major cases tulad ng operasyon, hinihingi nila ang pinakahuling anim na buwan ng kanilang kontribusyon. Kung hindi umano nila ito nabayaran ayon sa hinihingi nilang panahon ng kontribusyon ay wala din itong bisa at hindi nila makukuha ang kanilang benepisyo.

Dapat din umanong mapaghandaan ng bawat mag-asawa ang pangangak at huwag hihintaying kung kailan kabuwanan na ay saka pa lamang magapapatala bilang kasapi ng Philhealth. Mas mainam umanong bago pa man mabuntis ay magpatala na agad upang makakuha ng benepisyo ng Philhealth at matulungan sila sa malaking gastusing kakaharapin sa ospital.

Samantala, kinumpirma ni Jubilo na isangdaang porsyento ang itataas sa singil ng Philhealth sa premium payment ng mga voluntary member habang tatlong porsyento naman ng basic salary ng mga empleyado ang itataas simula Hulyo ngayong taon.

Nilinaw din niyang noon pang nakaraang taon ay inanunsyo na nila ang nasabing pagtaas at nailabas na rin ito sa ilang sirkulasyon ng pahayagang nasyunal. Aniya, sinadya nilang agahan ang abiso upang hindi na magulat ang mga maaapektuhan nito sakaling ipatupad na nila ang nasabing pagtaas.

Dagdag din niya na palalakasin din nila ngayong taon ang kanilang koleksyon sa mga may-ari ng negosyo, individually paying members partikular din ang mga propesyunal tulad ng mga abogado, doktor, arkitekto at iba pa. (FBTumalad/BAR, PIA Sorsogon)

18th PNP Ethics Day ipinagdiwang

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, January 11 (PIA) – Ipinagdiwang ng mga kapulisan sa buong bansa ang “18^th PNP Ethics Day” noong Lunes, ika-9 ng Enero ngayong taon.

May temang “Sustaining ang Efficient Police Service”, sinabi ni Police Chief Inspector Martin G. Batacan, Chief Police Community Relations at Public Information Officer ng Sorsogon Police Provincial Office (SPPO) na ipinagdiwang ng mga kapulisan sa SPPO ang aktibidad sa pamamagitan ng isang simpleng programa kasabay ng kanilang Flag Raising Ceremony sa Camp Salvador, Escudero, Sr. sa lungsod ng Sorsoogn.

Naging pangunahing panuhin at tagapagsalita sa Atty. Louie Toldanes, Sorsogon Provincial Officer ng National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM).

Sa mensahe nito, sinabi niyang bawat kasapi ng pulisya ay dapat na maging matapat at tinalakay din niya ang kahalagahan ng pagtupad ng kanilang tungkulin para sa mga mamamayan sapagkat dala umano ng mga ito hindi lamang ang kani-kanilang mga sarili kundi ang buong imahe at reputasyon ng bawat pulis at ng buong organisasyon.

Naroroon din sa simpleng pagdiriwang si PNP Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent John CA Jambora at ang buong hanay ng mga opisyal at kapulisan ng SPPO at ang Provincial Public Safety Company (SPPSC).

Ang pagdiriwang ng Ethics Day ay mabisa ding paalala sa mga kapulisan sa pagkakaroon ng tamang asal at matinong pagpapatupad ng kanilang mga tungkulin bilang mga alagad ng batas at civil servant. (SPPO/PIA Sorsogon)

City veterinary office to conduct hygienic meat butchering and meat vendors training

SORSOGON CITY, January 11 (PIA)… The Sorsogon City Veterinary Office will conduct this Friday, January 13 the regular hygienic meat butchering and meat vendors’ training to ensure that meat sold in the city public market here undergoes the proper sanitary process and that measures on safekeeping the meat be properly handled.

Dr. Alex Destura, Sorsogon City Health Veterinarian officer said that to assure the public that clean and safe meat will be sold to the public in the  city market here, it is a must that butchers and vendors undergo the hygienic training which their office will be conducting.

Destura explained that as part of the safety measure their office is implementing especially in the butchering and selling of meat, the one day training will provide the meat vendors and butchers the needed know how on how meat should be properly handled,cut, prepared, transported and sold.

The city veterinary office will soon see an upgraded class double A slaughter house here where meat for consumption within the city is reliably safe for consumption, handled properly and transported from the slaughter house to the market and to other outlets here within the city.

The training is also a must to all butchers and meat vendors as the activity is a prerequisite for the renewal of their license and business permit.

According to Dr. Destura, one of the objectives of the city is that no double dead meat or “botcha”will be sold here and that meat vendors and butchers alike will adhere to the safety inspection procedure of meat sold in the public markets.

He also explained that the city veterinary office has been strict in the implementation of all the precautionary measures and certain rules that have to be imposed as regards to cattle and hog butchering and meat handling.

He also have coordinated with all piggeries here selling hogs to follow also the set of standard set by their office so that the procedure and processes observed in slaughtering be followed as no home backyard slaughtering will be allowed for selling.

The meat shop operators here especially the big supermarkets get their supply of meat from trusted big company suppliers which are branded and have undergone the safe process of meat processing or packaging.

He also said that those who will engage in meat processing should also be guided properly and should be required to register so that the city veterinary office will be informed of the type of business they are into especially if this has something to do with hog or cattle butchering and so that their office can provide assistance and proper management of processed meat production as a source of backyard or home livelihood project. Sanggunian Panlungsod to pass an ordinance on standards for low cost typhoon resistant housing

SORSOGON CITY, January 11 (PIA)….. Warned by the impact of typhoons and how to promote awareness among people in typhoon prevalent areas as experienced in Cagayan de Oro, the Sangguniang Panlungsod here will pass an ordinance to institute standards on typhoon resistant low cost housing. This was learned from the office of the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation as explained yesterday by Mr. Tito Fortes.

According to Fortes the city government through the assistance of the UN Habitat Foundation Urban Planning (UNHFUP) has already piloted here several houses that have been retrofitted according to the standards of typhoon resistant housing following set by the UNFUP.

These houses are located in the six pilot-barangays here in the city that has been constructed/ retrofitted and have become the proto-type model for low cost housing typhoon resistant houses.

The Sanggunian Bayan through the assistance of the UN Habitat Foundation will formulate the criteria that will be followed as a pioneering accomplishment of the city to mitigate the effects of natural calamities and will be contained in a tool kit that will be the basis for assessment of houses specially those located in the shorelines of the different barangays here.

Fortes also explained that the thrust of the city now is to make people more aware in the style of houses that will be more resistant and assess location where houses should be built that will be contained in the city urban planning mechanisms in creating resilient communities.

The city engineering office here according to Fortes is conducting the rapid assessment and profiling of communities within the areas indicated as highly vulnerable to certain kinds of climatic conditions and the proper mitigation will be part of the city ordinance housing standards.

He also explained that the standards set for the creation of typhoon resistant houses will partly be provided funding coming from the international funding agencies of the CCAM program, from the disaster risk reduction fund assistance projects and local government budgetary allocation for urban planning.

He also said that hand in hand all other departments have forge their efforts to arrive at a city action plan and cascade it to the community action plan so that necessary implementable doable projects can be cooperatively accomplished specifically along housing standards.

The identified highly six vulnerable areas here under the UN Habitat program will be constantly  provided capacity enhancement trainings  on governance skills, bench markings of environmental situations and the vigilance mind set especially in promoting disaster risk reduction efforts within the confines of their homes.(PIA-SORSOGON)

Pag-isyu ng Road Worthiness Clearance sa mga operator ng traysikel nasa kamay na ng PNP

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, January 10 (PIA) – Ibinigay na ng Local Government Unit (LGU) ng Sorsogon City ang pamamahala sa pag-isyu ng road worthiness clearance sa mga operator o may-ari ng traysikel sa lungsod ng Sorsogon City Police.

Sa naging pahayag ni Sorsogon City Police OIC Chief Edgar Ardales, natanggap na umano nito noong nakaraang linggo mula kay Sorsogon City Mayor Leovic Dioneda ang isang Executive Order na nag-aatas sa kanilang tanggapan na siya nang mangasiwasa sa pag-isyu ng road worthiness clearance sa mga tricycle operator upang makapamasada ang kanilang yunit  sa lungsod ng Sorsogon.

Nilinaw ni Ardales na tututukan lamang nila ang mga yunit ng traysikel na ipapasada at hindi ang mga tsuper sapagkat nakaatang sa mga balikat ng operator ang responsibilidad sa pagdisiplina sa tsuper ng kani-kanilang mga pampasadang traysikel.

Subalit sinabi ng opisyal na sakaling mapag-alaman at mapatunayan nilang walang kaukulang dokumento o lisensya ang isang namamasadang tsuper ay mapipilitan ang mga naatasan o deputadong pulis na sitahin at hulihin ang mga ito.

Dagdga pa ni Ardales na pag-aaralan din nila ang mga kadalasang suliranin sa mga yunit ng ipinapasadang traysikel sa lungsod upang matugunan ito at mamantini ang maayos na daloy ng trapiko at kaligtasan ng tsuper at pasahero.

At upang hindi na mahirapan ang mga operator ng traysikel sa pagkuha ng nasabing clearance, naglagay umano sila ng road worthiness clearance desk sa Sorsogon City Police Station sa Brgy. Cabid-an.

Positibo naman ang pamahalaang panlungsod na sa kamay ng Sorsogon City Police ay mas magiging maayos at malinaw ang mga transaksyong gagawin ng mga tricycle operator sa pagkuha ng kanilang road worthiness clearance upang maipasada ang kanilang traysikel. (BARecebido, PIA Sorsogon)
