Philippines commemorates 115th Independence Day

1.      First Grassroots Solar Lighting Project in the World
·         Plastic bottles are recycled and used as a source of light, powered by the sun to help reduce electric bills.

·         Empty soft drink bottles are stuffed with trash and collected together to form into trash bricks which can be used to build schools.

The activity started on April 22, 2013 in time for the observance of Earth Day and will culminate on June 21, 2013.

16.  “Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal: Light and Sound Presentation”
      A light and sound sculptural tableau, honouring the Philippine’s national hero, Jose Rizal.  The 30-minute dramatization of the poignant moments of Rizal’s final hours through 8 monumental sculptural clusters in an interplay of light and sound is a collective obra of Four National Artists (Leandro Locsin, Lamberto Avellana, Lucio San Pedro and Rolando Tinio).
