TRIVIA: Fruit of Karagomoi

The beauty of biodiversity
Perhaps it is unknown to many that karagomoi (Pandanus sabutan), a plant whose leaves are used in mat-making, do bear fruits, as this photo above shows. Karagomoi grows abundantly and harmoniously with other plants and species in an undisturbed portion of the Bicol National Park in Barangay Tuaca, Basud, Camarines Norte. DENR Bicol released this photo as our nation observes 2010 as the “National Year of Biodiversity.”(ASA, DENR/PIA Sorsogon)

oh, sounds so good... we in PIA Sorsogon are glad that there are people like you who are familiar with our own native plants in Bicol... Thanks, too, for the comment. Keep going!

I've known this plant for so long but I didn't know it bears fruit. Good thing that I plan to do some research re this plant for my livelihood project, so it happens that I saw the fruit. Thanks!
