B-MEG BICOL DONATES BARRICADES BEARING COAST GUARD ADVISORY TO CGS SORSOGON

News Release

SORSOGON CITY - On 13 July 2010, BMEG Bicol headed by Mr Randy Suarez, Territory Sales Manager officially turned over to LTJG JOSE RONNIE T ONG JR, Station Commander, CGS Sorsogon, six (6) units of barricades bearing COAST GUARD ADVISORY which displays policies on Overloading, Wearing of Lifejackets and Movement of Vessels during Heavy Weather. The barricades are custom built purposely as information, education campaign (IEC) material to promote maritime safety by increasing the level of sea travel safety awareness of the ships crew and riding public and further, avert any sea tragedy.

Consequently, through coordination with Philippine Ports Authority, the barricades were strategically positioned in conspicuous area of Matnog, Bulan and Pilar ports where passengers and vehicles regularly pass. In addition, one distinct feature of said barricades is the reflectorized material employed in its fabrication thus making it very visible day and night suitable in the ports of Sorsogon operating 24/7.
