COMELEC SETS DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION OF STATEMENT OF ELECTORAL CONTRIBUTIONS AND EXPENDITURES

News Release

SORSOGON PROVINCE (October 28) – Following the longest election ever conducted in the Philippines, Provincial Election Supervisor Atty Calixto Aquino reminded those who run for the recently concluded Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council posts to submit their Sworn Statement of Electoral Contributions and Expenditures in duplicate forms on or before November 10, this year.

Aquino said candidates who win or lose during the Oct. 25 elections must submit said statement so as to avoid being penalized for the first and second time or from disqualification the third time they run again for any elected position.

”Comelec Resoultion No. 9043 sec. 18 states that they have to submit their Statement of Electoral Contributions and Expenditures to the local election office where they filed their certificate of candidacy, otherwise they will not be allowed to assume office on November 30,” said Aquino.

Meanwhile, candidates who won the barangay and SK election can have their oath-taking before any duly authorized administering officers of their choice. (Bennie A. Recebido, PIA Sorsogon)
