Call for Application to the 14th ASEAN-Korea Future-Oriented Youth Exchange Programme



The National Youth Commission opens the application to the 14th ASEAN-Korea Future-Oriented Youth Exchange Programme. With the theme “ASEAN-Korea Youth Square 2012” the program aims to provide better knowledge of history, culture, society of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to young people of the ASEAN-member states. It also aims to provide a firm foundation for mutual understanding and goodwill between ASEAN and ROK. The NYC will be sending eight (8) Filipino delegates (4 males, 4 females) to the program which will be held on November 21 – 27, 2012 in Seoul, ROK.
 
Qualifications:
·         Filipino youth leaders
·         18-30 years old
·         Knowledgeable in Korean history and culture; and ASEAN-Korea relations
·         Can communicate in English

Requirements:
·         Accomplished NYC International Programs Application Form
·         Resume with photo (not more than 3 pages)
·         Scanned copy or photocopy of the information page of a valid passport
·         An essay of not more than 300 words that is focused on "Promoting Understanding among ASEAN-Korean Youth" (Essay must be typewritten/encoded, double-spaced; Arial font 12)

Obligations of Delegates:
·         To prepare 5-minute cultural presentation (group presentation)
·         To prepare PowerPoint presentation regarding Philippine history/culture (group presentation)
·         To write post-program policy paper (to be submitted within 2 weeks after the program)

Expenses:
·         Roundtrip airfare (Manila-ROK-Manila), accommodation, and meals will be covered by the Organizer

The following need not apply:

1. Participants of NYC-coordinated international programs from 2010 – 2012 whose airfare, accommodation, and meals were paid for by the organizer; and
2. Participants of NYC-coordinated international programs from 2011 – 2012 whose airfare was shouldered by the participants and whose accommodation, and meals were paid for by the organizer.

Deadline for submission of application is at 5:00 PM on October 12, 2012, Friday.
