SORSOGON
CITY, October 29 – The Province of Sorsogon was declared by the Regional
Nutrition Committee (RNC) as “2012 BEST PERFORMING PROVINCE IN THE REGION” and
received this recognition from the National Nutrition Committee Council at the
2013 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony in Legaspi City.
Owing it to the kind
of service and programs being provided for the Sorsoganons, for two consecutive years (2009 - 2010) the Province of Sorsogon, under the leadership and complete support
of Honorable Governor Raul R. Lee, was adjudged as “Bicol Region’s Best
Nutrition Implementer.”
Subsequently, during last year’s 3rd Salud Bicolnon Awards,
Sorsogon was capped as “2011’s Top Ranking Province in the Bicol Region.”
Similarly at this year’s Regional
Nutrition Awarding Ceremony, Barangays San Bernardo (Local Government Unit of
Bulusan, Sorsogon) and Patag (Local Government Unit of Gubat) were given the
honors as “2012 Top Performing Barangays in the Region” and LGUs Gubat and
Casiguran, Sorsogon as two among the “Top 10 Municipalities With Low Prevalence
of Malnutrition in 2012.”
Likewise,
LGU Gubat for both “2012 Outstanding Municipality in the Province (2012 Green
Banner Award)” and “2012 Outstanding Municipality in the Region (Regional Green
Banner Award),” followed by LGU Bulusan (1st Runner-up).
LGU
Gubat, for receiving three GB awards in-a-row ascends to the premier level and vies
for the nationwide “Crown Award.” (VAELabalan/PIA-5/Sorsogon)
