SORPPO Plants Trees in Support to PNP’s “Pulis Makakalikasan” Program


SORSOGON CITY, June 24 – Personnel of Sorsogon Police Provincial Office (SPPO) together with personnel of Sorsogon Provincial Public Safety Company (SPPSC) and Sorsogon City Police Station (CPS) planted more or less 500 saplings of mahogany tree in Barangay Buhatan, Sorsogon City on Thursday, June 21, 2012. 

Said activity is in line with the Philippine National Police (PNP) tree planting program  dubbed as “Pulis Makakalikasan: 10 Milyong Puno, Pamana sa Kinabukasan”. It is regularly done as a contribution to the National Greening Program (NGP) implemented by the national government, spearheaded by PNP Chief, Police Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome, targeting 10 million trees to be planted by PNP personnel nationwide starting February 2012 to February 2013. 

Every member of the PNP is expected to plant six (6) trees every month until February next year. 

In line with the program, the PNP is likewise encouraging the community to join in the tree planting activity to save our mother nature and for benefit of the future generation. (EPaje, SPPO/BARecebido, PAI Sorsogon)
