LGU Bacacay gains world class stature. Mayor Tobias Betito dedicates the town’s 2012 Blue Pride Award as Philippine Coral Reef Conservation Champion conferred by Rare Conservation, USA, to his constituents. He ran one of the 12 campaigns for Sustainable Fisheries in the Philippines to manage and protect the Uson, Buang, Pongco- Bonga Fish Sanctuary and Marine Reserve together with DENR Bicol in 2010-2012. A Marine Protected Area Management Plan will soon be implemented to keep the fish sanctuary free from any form of illegal intrusion thereby keeping its fish stock healthy and abundant. Illegally Cut Logs. Wildlife Enforcement Officers of Camarines Norte scales illegally cut logs floating along the river of Brgy. Baay, Labo, Camarines Norte. Routine patrol by DENR-PNP-AFP joint task force in the area resulted in the apprehension of illegal cut logs pegged at 30.44 m³. Charcoal maker nabbed. Forester Rusty Abrera, Protected Area Superintendent of Bicol Natural Park Camarines Norte side caught Alfred Rada (handcuffed) violating forestry laws.
