Philippine Currency and Counterfeit Awareness Seminar

SORSOGON CITY - Sorsogon Police Provincial Office conducted Philippine Currency and Awareness Seminar held at Conference Hall, Camp Salvador C. Escudero Sr., Sorsogon City on December 6, 2012. The activity which was headed by PSSUPT John CA Jambora aims to determine whether the Phillippine Currency is fake or genuine. Mrs. Cynthia S. Ariola and Mr. Silvestre M. Bernaldez Jr., representatives from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Legazpi Branch served as the lecturers. Genuine New Philippine currencies have embossed prints like the words “REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS” that are rough when touched, the Serial Number is composed of 1 or 2 prefix letters and 6 or 7 asymmetric or increasing in size and the Security Thread  running vertically across the note is visible from either side of the bill when viewed against the light. The said activity was attended by personnel from PHQ, Sorsogon Provincial Public Safety Company, Sorsogon City Police station and different Municipal Police stations in the province.
