903Bde has new Deputy Brigade Commander

903rd Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Samuel Felipe

CASTILLA, SORSOGON, March 8 (PIA) – The 903^rd Infantry (Fight & Defend) Brigade based in Poblacion, Castilla, Sorsogon has a newly installed Deputy Brigade Commander effective February 16, 2013.

He is Colonel Samuel Fortuno Felipe FA (GSC) PA who will be the second in Command to the Commander of 903rd Brigade, Colonel Joselito E. Kakilala INF (GSC) PA.

Colonel Samuel F Felipe FA (GSC) PA, graduated as member of the “MAHARLIKA” PMA Class of 1984, who is also a mistah of the current 903rd Brigade Commander. He was born in Barcelona, Sorsogon on September 9, 1960. His mother is a full-blooded Bicolana while his father is from Mayantoc, Tarlac.

Prior to Colonel Felipe’s current position, he was the Command Inspector General of the Army Reserve Command, Philippine Army.

Early in his career as a military officer, he went through combat missions as Platoon Leader/Ex-O, Company Commander and Operations officer of 11IB, 3ID in Camarines Sur and Negros provinces.

His significant assignments in Mindanao include his being the Group Commander of 10RCDG, ARESCOM, PA; Deputy Commander and Executive Officer of Task Force Zamboanga 1^st Infantry Division (ID), PA; and as Commanding Officer of 9^th Field Artillery Battalion and 18IB, 1ID, PA.

His assignments both in Luzon and National Capital Region (NCR) were more of as Administrative/Opetaions Chief of different units such as SOLCOM & VISCOM, AFP and OG1, PA. He was also sent to foreign missions as Personnel Officer of PHILHSMET, INTERFET and PHILBATT, UNTAET last 1999-2000.

Due to his significant assignments and accomplishments, Colonel Felipe was awarded with generous awards such as Gawad sa Kaunlaran, Bronze Cross Medals, Military Merit Medals, Military Commendation Medals, Military Civic Action Medals, and Disaster Relief Operations Medal.

He was also given Long Service Medals for rendering almost 33 superb years in the military service. He was also recognized by several civilian partners throughout his tour of duty in different places of his assignments.

He is happily married with Mrs. Bernadine M. Felipe, with only one daughter, Tina Samuelle.

Colonel Felipe, as the Deputy Brigade Commander and at the same time the Task Force Commander in Masbate during election duty, affirms to assist and support the programs in the conduct of Internal Peace and Security Operations of the 903^rd Brigade in the provinces of Sorsogon and Masbate.
